The Jack Meachum Scholarship Fund

The Jack Meachum Scholarship Fund stands as a tribute to the enduring memory of Jack Meachum, who tragically passed away in 2023. Renowned in the Midwest and Indiana lacrosse community not only as an excellent coach but also as someone who consistently instilled core values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Jack was named USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2023 and honored as Coach of the Year for Carmel High School after leading Carmel High School to a state championship. Jack was much more than simply a coach. He was an advisor, mentor, and role model for lacrosse players of all ages. He donated his time and energy to Indigenous American lacrosse groups as an instructor and was head of the Indiana Chapter of USA Lacrosse. He served on the Board for the IHSLA and frequently provided free clinics to support the growth of lacrosse.

Honoring Coach Meachum

In honor of Jack’s profound commitment to spreading the joy of lacrosse, the True Foundation proudly announces its inaugural scholarship fund in his name. This fund symbolizes Jack’s Legacy by providing financial support and access to students who traditionally lack access to the port of lacrosse. Eligible applicants can be participants from the True Foundation’s free after-school programs, as well as all students from low-income earning households and those who attend Title I schools, enabling them to participate in local, travel, and club-based lacrosse programs nationwide.

“Jack had fun playing and coaching lacrosse. When he visited his childhood home in Naperville he would play lacrosse with the kids in the neighborhood. He mentored players and coaches. He wanted everyone to experience the joy that the sport brought to him.”

– Lauren Meachum, Jack’s Mother
